Oriental Rug Cleaning

We use a wet immersion process to clean oriental rugs. This is the oldest and in our opinion the best method for thoroughly cleaning a wool rug. We have been cleaning rugs since the the 1930s. The cleaning plant is in our store. If you would like a tour, please ask!

Here is a summary of the steps we follow:

€ Dye Lock treatment if necessary
€ Wash
€ Rinse
€ Dry
€ Detail fringes
€ Post inspection

It will take approximately two weeks to clean an oriental rug. Most of this time is for drying and cleaning of the fringe. Please, call Zack Blazer at 814-238-2732 with any questions.

How often a rug needs to be cleaned depends on how it is used. This answer would be different for a highly trafficked entryway than for a formal dinning room. We would be happy to discuss the condition of your rug.

Extra charges for special service
Odor Digester: helps reduce odor from pets, smoke, or mold.	$0.50 per square foot
Color Setting: helps reduce the chance of colors bleeding into white areas of the design and fringe.	$0.50 per square foot
Moth Proofing: helps reduce the chance of moths damaging the wool.	$1.00 per square foot
Cleaning Silk Rugs: Silk can not be cleaned with water. We use a dry-cleaning solution.	$3.25 per square foot

Oriental Rug Repair

We offer minor repair services at our store. For major reweaving we use a trusted company in New York City. Each rug requires an individual appraisal to determine the estimated cost of a repair.
